New File Dialog Interface
The New File Dialog Interface (NFDI) affords the user a chance to select the file to create or open.
When no document has been previously nominated by double-clicking its icon or otherwise through DDE, the NFDI is presented to the user automatically when the software application is run. The NFDI can also be set to open the last accessed document from the previous session. When so set, the document is opened immediately wihout presenting the NFDI.
The NFDI is also invoked by clicking New in the File menu, or its equivalent in the toolbar.
