The document, with possibly all other ancillary files it utilizes, is a raw piece of information which by itself only has a limited use. To achieve its potential, it has to be transformed into another format by the software application. Hence, it has to be compiled. The kind of format and compilation required will determine the software application used to compile the document. Of course, the software application must be able to handle the document and accept it as input.
Usually, an output is written on a particular character encoding. This is the set of values used by the computer to interpret information in the file into a form or character recognized by humans. There are common encodings which software applications write their output. These are represented by a corresponding item in the menu, or radiobutton in the Page toolbar.
To choose a locale to compile, make sure to check the box of the desired locale in the The Alternative Language and Replacement Structure. This is found by going to the Languages Menu and launching the Languages dialog.
List of output files is found in the combo box of the Page toolbar. The file selected is displayed in the third pane of the active view. The third pane is not yet editable.
Output Files may be viewed, edited, or further processed in other software applications. Clicking the Preview button launches the particular software application registered in the operating system and associated with the file selected in the combo box.
